ABOUT
This exhibition grew out of an Art History course in Ancient Greek and Roman Art taught by Dr. Jacquelyn Tuerk-Stonberg (History Dept, Kean U). The exhibitions in Athens and online will include original contemporary artworks by Kean Art History students and by professional artists from Greece, Belgium, and the US. The accompanying publication will include Kean Art History student research essays on ancient and medieval Greek art, exploring real or mythological Greek women: their representation, identity, culture, and history.
The purpose of this Art History project is to support Kean student research with primary sources, to promote awareness of social experiences that are distinct to women’s culture, and to encourage international and multicultural understanding.
